Important Notice: CAUTION TO MOBILE MONEY USERS

Image
There is a new technique scammers have come up with to con people called *'JUMPED'*. The scammer sends you a real deposit of money into your wallet using his number. This is not a fake deposit. He really sends you money a small amount like GH¢20.00 or GH¢30.00 and you wouldn't even doubt it. After sending this money he then launches a withdrawal on your number. When you receive the message on your phone that you have received some money, the natural thing is to be excited and then want to check your balance. To check the balance you'll need to enter your Code Number. The moment you do this, you will have validated his withdrawal request on your account. Your account will automatically allow his withdrawal request and take out the money. The trick is just to lure you with a small amount initially and steal from you.  To protect yourself from this scam, whenever you received such an unexpected deposit, to check your balance, first deliberately enter in a wrong Code Number...

Exclusive Report: Founder's Day Celebration Sparks Controversy in Ghana

Image
The Founder's Day celebration in Ghana, originally scheduled for September 21, was cancelled and re-instituted for August 4, sparking controversy over the country's founding fathers. The day honors the contributions of Ghana's founders, but a debate has emerged over whether Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the country's first president, was the sole founder. Supporters of Nkrumah argue that he played a crucial role in Ghana's independence, while others claim that other key figures, such as J.B. Danquah and Obetsebi-Lamptey, also contributed significantly. The controversy led to the cancellation of the original celebration date and its re-institution on August 4, which some see as an attempt to downplay Nkrumah's legacy. Critics argue that the move undermines Nkrumah's importance in Ghana's history, while others see it as an effort to promote a more inclusive narrative of the country's founding. The debate highlights the complex nature of Ghana's history and th...

"Shores of Fear: Sea Erosion Threatens Shiabu Community

Image
The coastal town of Shiabu is battling against the fury of the sea as relentless erosion threatens to destroy homes, livelihoods, and infrastructure. The situation has become dire, with many buildings and properties already succumbing to the pounding waves. Ironically, the disaster could have been mitigated had residents accepted early suggestions to build sea defenses. However, fearing that the structures would hinder their fishing occupation and lead to job losses, many resisted the proposal. Now, as the full force of the sea's fury is felt, it's clear that those few areas that did permit sea defenses have been spared the worst of the damage. In contrast, properties and buildings in areas without defenses have been ravaged, leaving residents to count the cost. The tragedy highlights the delicate balance between economic livelihoods and environmental protection. As the community comes to terms with the devastation, there are calls for a rethink on coastal management and the im...

According to a statement released by the Rwandan Ministry of Justice, a total of 714 churches have been closed, including some of the country's largest Pentecostal and evangelical churches.
